i reached home,i spend happily with my family members, as i am spending all most three moths later ,i was happy at that moment .

By early in the morning i woke up and had my bath and got some small makeup my self ,as i am going to meet my girlfriend after a long time , i have already given her the information about my visit to my home on that day ,she too may be getting ready to meet me,this feeling getting me more exited. I got out of the house .
I went up to the terrus of our apartment ,as you all know its our meeting place, when i was going up mamatha's sister vimala seen me,i got some more excitement as she would inform her about my presence there ,with in a fraction of seconds i am going to meet my sweet heart.

Time running as if it can't wait for myself ,its already one hour over there ,i was still waiting there but she didn't came there ,thousands of doubts in my mind ,but nobody was there to answer my questions.

I heard some sound hat some one coming over the terrus,oh...my god i was very happy to hear that sound as she is coming.I was shocked that was naveen.

"What for you are here" he asked me.
"Don't you know why i am here" i said.
"Its waste of time" he said.
" What it mean "i again exclaimed.
"Ok,we will talk about that later ,first we go down" naveen said to me.
I didn't understand i was in shock ,till that time she didn't came there.

At that moment the time which i was waited for her laughed at me,that moment i felt lonely on this world.

NUCLEAR WAR BETWEEN LEFT PARTIES & CONGRESS-as THE HONEYMOON WAS OVER

NUCLEAR TREATY BETWEEN AMERICA & INDIA

This is the very hot topic of India going on each and every where ,even in the Parliament also .
which making the left parties to thing about the withdrawing the support to UPA government .

Actually a weekdays before Prime minister's 'MASCULINE WORDS " posting of this blog, warned the left parties that they can withdraw their support to the government if they can .With this unexpected warning left parties were under dilemma.

But again UPA government had fallen in problem, as The foreign affair minister of united states of America CONDOLIZA RICE stated that "If India do nuclear tests with out permission of USA they will cancel the deal of nuclear agreement with India".

This created a great war in the parliament of India between left parties against ruling party as such Prime minister cheated the Indian citizens by hiding the deal topics of the Nuclear Treaty between India & America.

Lets see what happen ,whether the left parties will with draw the support or it will continue in the government.

A TRUE STORY-6

I began to accustomed to the surroundings of the new place ,new friends,to the new books of mine & even for far residing from my parents,my bro Anil expect for one thing that is my sweet heart Mamatha.

Days were running fast with my studies, but no news from mamatha ,days became weeks and finally one month happened.

i was very sad on one afternoon with memories of her ,but i was unable to do nothing at that time from a far place .All of my friends were gone for lunch ,i was at the class room itself,at about 1.30 pm i heard somebody inquiring about me,i got of the class & it was postman inquiring.
I said "i am RAM".

"Here is a letter for you" he uttered.

During those days i was receiving letters from my parents at least one for every week,i felt some hat routine thing, and i opened the letter.

I shocked it was a letter from Mamatha.

I found i was unable to read that letter as my eyes were filled with tears with happiness seeing her writing .

From the first sentence of the letter indicated me how sad she was there without my presence, i too cried a lot by reading completely that letter ,but i was very happy on that day, i red the letter at lest for twenty to thirty times from the afternoon .

I had good friends there among them Apparao, RAvi, Upendhra, Veeraswami,Tilak reddy, Kalyan babu were my best buddies.they found me some what different on that day.

Ravi came and questioned me "Are you in love?"

I was shocked "How do you know "i replied.

"Only a lover can feel the happiness with out any reason "he replied.

I was accepted my love loyally.

"Is it true?", again he questioned .

"What do you mean that ?" i said.

"Nothing now a days everybody mentioning attraction as love thats why i questioned like that" he said

"No i am true "i replied.

"Good be genuine in love"he replied and left the place .

From that day onwards i started receiving letters from mamatha regularly and i was keep replying all the letters. One thing you may got some doubt here to where i was writing letters for her ,yes ,i was writing letters to the school address of my bro Anil ,he was very favor for myself ,he carried all of my letters to her .

Again i loved each and every day as every friday i was receiving letters from her .

days were good ,they were passing lovely, my studies were also good ,and i got good marks in my trimester exams too.As regularly we had holidays after our exams.

A DAY AFTER MANY DAYS ,WHAT FOR I WAS WAITED THAT DAY CAME , I WAS GOING HOME THAT AFTER NOON,I WAS VERY HAPPY ,AS YOU ALL KNOW I AM GOING TO MEET MAMATHA .

G'S- FAMILY C/O ANDHRA PRADESH

We accept the Indian national congress leaders played a major role for Indian freedom this don't mean that they are the only people who responsible for Indian freedom as said by a young MP ,son of another MP,who playing a major role in Indian ruling party.

Independence was an achievement by fight fought against British by Indian patriotic heroes from each and every part of India .Just think over that if only national congress leaders only fought against British ,would they had given us The Independence ?,ABSOLUTELY NO .

Independence was an act passed by British due the fought by CERTAIN FAMILY.Then why we have to honor a certain family people for that .If that is the situation that we should honor the freedom fighters then we have a lot of freedom fighters from all over the country & from our state itself .

But in our honorable chief minister Dr.RAJA SEKHAR REDDY'S view only the leaders of a certain family are coming in the mind when ever he reminds freedom fighters .Recently the Government of Andhradesh was trying to change a colony of Hyderabad kukatpally housing board colony to Rajiv gandhi housing board colony.

Inorder to honor Rajiv he tried ,but in way Rajiv was a great leader ,as his name was in a big scam of Boforse ,as he scolded Andhrapradesh chief minister ANJAIAH or as he was a son of ex-priminister or he was the husband of Mrs .SONIA GANDHI.

One thing keep in mind that will be better for near future now a days people are very intelegent ,they what is what and what for the leaders are doing anything so be cautious and do some for the people and not for any cerrtain family or to any certain leader.

At last one more twist in Rajiv gandji statue inaugural function by The Governor at kukatpally housing board colony Chief Minister himself didnt attended .
All these things are seeing by your high command MADAM, DOCTOR.

As per saying of somebody if we like somebody very much its better to have their to our personal things, houses, our children but its not good to compel others, why bcz this will sure show the result after two years .

soooooooooooooooooooooo.

A TRUE STORY-5

LAST POST
---------------------------------------------
"nothing made my eyes to stop their sorrow she was so close to me at that moment and finally she made myself prepared to leave my house.

But i didn't got my answer from her as a reply for my proposal,at last i left my home with a great sorrow.

still my love wasn't crossed the path of thorns.

CONTINUES:

I was left the place with absence heart with no reply from my fellow heart .I joined the college ,my father accompany me at that time ,for the first time i was out of my house alone .

Again new world ,new friends ,new teachers ,i joined hostel .the time came now ,my father leaving me, my eyes were tearing ,but i managed before my father ,at last he left the place .Horrible night I ever faced before ,through out the night i was crying .Even i don't know when i was slept on that night .

A new morning on the first day in the hostel

"my name is Babu-Kalyan babu" i heard some voice .

at that time i was reminded "Bond-James bond".

"My name is Ram "i replied.

"Did family members came in to your mind yesterday night?" he asked.

no reply from my side ."Its all common for the first time in the hostel"he said.

"Ok,lets go to the college ,i accompany you "he said.

On the way he said college was two kilometers far from the hostel ,we discussed a lot of things on the way ,i felt some what better at that time as Babu was with me at that time ,though some unhappiness in my heart as my sweet memories with Mamatha would never compensate me with whom ever.

we reached the college ,class was started a lean tall man with his bald head entered in to our class room.As soon as he entered he started taking attendance and finished it very fast and started the class, but i felt he would have some introduction period as it was the first class .

He finished the class and said"I the principal of this college a very bad man ,be disciplined in the college for college fame and read well for yourself"finally he left the class.

That day completed very soon ,as it was first day every body(teachers) had only introductory classes.I forgotten to tell you that we had our dining hall in the college campus itself,we had our dinner by 8'o'PM and again we returned back to our hostel.

Every thing new ,almost sixty pupils are there in the hostel ,it was a very big building with no separate rooms ,as it was a big storage house previously.Every body introduced to each others ,we all some talks about the new place ,principal and other staff &finally went to bed .I remind that day well because that was just some what happy than the first day ,even though mamatha was in my mind .

ITS ALMOST 21 YEARS -THE II MEMBERS DID IT AGAIN

The records were tumbled at Oval ground in england on 13th august 2007.for the first time in recent period of six long years england had surrendered them their test match series to Indian blues as 1-0 .

For Indians also, its a long journey again to load a victory bullet against England in their barrels of test series guns .

Horrible test century of kumble, terrible bowling blasters from Zaheer khan, disturbing spell bounces from kid Sreeshanth all were gone against England,Sreeshanth have some consciousness about losing the match fees.

As such we wished kumble for MAN OF THE SERIES he deserved it .Nothing went favor with England guys ,even they draw ed the final match at oval, might be they were not happy as kumble made his first century over the same pitch on his 118 test match .
lets hope the buzzing continues even in the one day series ,even for 2020 series also.but its a right time that the team spirit riding the Indian team as such in past whole team depending on any single guy,its pleasure to hear the DYNAMITE OF JARKAND continues his ROUND THE CLOCK BLASTING'S.

HOPE THE BEST & WISH THE BEST TO OUR BUDDIES.

JOKES FOR THIS EVENING

HAIRSTYLE

A man moves into a nudist colony. He receives a letter from his mother asking him to send her a current photo of himself in his new location. Too embarrassed to let her know that he lives in a nudist colony, he cuts a photo in half and sends her the top half.

Later he receives another letter asking him to send a picture to his grandmother. The man cuts another picture in half, but accidentally sends the bottom half of the photo. He is really worried when he realizes that he sent the wrong half, but then remembers how bad his grandmother's eyesight is, and hopes she won't notice.

A few weeks later, he receives a letter from his grandmother. It says... "Thank you for the picture. Change your hair style, it makes your nose look too short!"

                 Make Love To a Ghost

A visiting professor at the University of Alabama is giving a seminar on the supernatural.

To get a feel for his audience, he asks, "How many people here believe in ghosts?"

About 90 students raise their hands.

"Well, that's a good start. Out of those of you who believe in ghosts, do any of you think you've ever seen a ghost?"

About 40 students raise their hands.

"That's really good. I'm glad you take this seriously. Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost?"

Fifteen students raise their hands.

"That's a great response. Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?"

Three students raise their hands.

"That's fantastic. But let me ask you one question further: Have any of you ever made love to a ghost?"

One student in the back raises his hand. The professor is astonished. He takes off his glasses, takes a step back, and says, "Son, all the years I've been giving this lecture, no one has ever claimed to have slept with a ghost. You've got to come up here and tell us about your experience."

The redneck student (remember, this is Alabama) replies with a nod and begins to make his way up to the podium.

The professor says, "Well, tell us what it's like to have sex with a host."

The student replies, "Ghost!? I thought you said 'goats.'"

IT COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE

There is a story many years ago of an elementary teacher. Her name was Mrs. Thompson. And as she stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of school, she told the children a lie. She looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. But that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.

Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy could be unpleasant. It got tot he point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then putting a big "F" at the top of his papers.

At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's past records and she put Teddy's off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.

Teddy's first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners…he is a joy to be around."

His second grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student, well-liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."

His third grade teacher wrote, "His mother's death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken."

Teddy's fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and sometimes sleeps in class."

By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright paper, except for Teddy's. His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper that he got from a grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing and a bottle that was one quarter full of perfume.

But she stifled the children's' laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist.

Teddy Stoddard stayed after school that day just long enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my Mom, used to." After the children, left she cried for at least an hour,. On that very day, she quite teaching reading, and writing, and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach children.

Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class and, despite her lie that she would love all the children the same, Teddy became on of her "teacher's pets."

A year later, she found a note under he door, from Teddy, telling her that she was still the best teacher he ever had in his whole life. Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, second in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in his whole life.

Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had in his whole life.

Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had. But now his name was little longer. The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, M.D.

The story doesn't end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he'd met this girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit I the place at the weeding that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom. Of course, Mrs. Thompson did. And guess what? She wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. And she made sure she was wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas together.

They hugged each other and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs. Thompson's ear, "Thank you, Mrs. Thompson, for believing in me. Thank you so much for make me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."

Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, "Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn't know how to teach until I met you."

A TRUE STORY-3

As the days passing our smiles at each other passing ,a world of new ideas, new dreams, new thoughts, new friendship everything passing cool.

May be sun forget to rise in the east by early in the morning but we never fail to meet over the terrus of our apartment.we exchanged our ideas ,about our family members, our friends, abut our like&dislikes.

Now we are familier with each other,if a day rose as such we unable to meet together on that day we tried to delete that horrible day from the calender itself, our souls started to mingle each other.

If we dont find oneanother for hours we spend that hours as such we are spending over the hell, when we found each other we again enter in the world of lovely heaven .

Days passing,
On one fine evening she signed me to met over the terrus from the bolcony ,i went along her to the terrus, that was sunday everybody of our family members were at home since from the morning.

MASCULINE WORDS FROM ATMOST AUTHORITY OF INDIA

"IF YOU CAN -YOU CAN WITHDRAW THE SUPPORT"

THOSE ARE THE WORDS FROM THE ATMOST AUTHORITY OF INDIA, THE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA MR.MANMOHAN SINGH

I think thOse are the words for the first time that our prime minister had spoken by his own ,really why bcz a proverb remainding you people at this time "for every success of a man there would be a women behind him" but in indian government though the higher authority of the government is mr.prime minister he never behaved like an individual authority having his own decision in the government policies and very important acts .
The words delivered (according to media)from the prime minister itself implies that how dependently he was all the previous days in the government, may be he disappointed with his dependent post, those words are not confirmed by congress authority still as PM relesed that statement ,this proves that those words are NOT DICTATED TO PM BY THE MADAMJI ,that too i dont think that MADAMJI has that much courage to dictate PM to utter those words which were DRAG HER GOVERNMENT TO THE MINORITY . HONOURABLE PRIME MINISTER atleast try to make your own decisions now & be advisable path to upcoming priministers to the great nation INDIA.

KUMBLE ---THE THUNDER CENTURY IN HIS "THERTIES"

Kumble may be never think over that he will be the hero in any international test match ,only he himself will have a knockout century towards any country ,his dream of test century had become true with Oval test match in england ,may be sachin and troop who dropped their centuries in nineties it self may jealous of him .

but yesterday was a day in Kumble history that will remain as golden memories in his life and he can say something to his children and grand children as a adventure he did , but it was a very terible century ever seen by michlevaugn ,the captain of england .As it was not a slow century too to make vaugn to keep quite with out getting bothered about that century ,as 14 fours and 1 six was a part of that century, which was figures of professional batsman's, it was accidental i thought at the time he was in sixties after that when he crossed south african record on his name i was enthusiastic and had enjoyed the play till to his final enjoyable moments of his century.wish him for man of the match award and have some ten wickets too in his pocket.

BEST OF LUCK KUMBLE

Washcloth

There was a little boy whose aunt was about to have a baby. One day, the little boy walked in and saw his aunt naked. He asked his aunt the hair between her legs was.

She responded, "It's my wash cloth."

Weeks later, after boys aunt had her baby, the young boy walked in on his aunty again. While she was in the hospital, the doctor had shaved her pubic hair.

The boy asked, "What happened to your wash cloth?"

The aunt responded, "I lost it."

The little boy, trying to be helpful, set out to find his aunty's washcloth.

A few days later, he ran to his aunt yelling and screaming, "I found your washcloth."

The aunt, thinking that the child was just playing, went along with the boy and asked, "Where did you find it?"

The boy answered, "The maid has it! She is washing uncle's face with it."

TWO TEAR DROPS OF BLOOD OVER HUMAN HISTORY-HIROSHIMA & NAGASAKI

BRIEFLY:

The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nuclear attacks during World War II against the Empire of Japan by the United States of America under US President Harry S. Truman. On August 6, 1945, the nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, followed on August 9, 1945 by the detonation of the "Fat Man" nuclear bomb over Nagasaki. They are the only instances of the use of nuclear weapons in warfare.

In estimating the number of deaths caused by the attacks, there are several factors that make it difficult to arrive at reliable figures: inadequacies in the records given the confusion of the times, and the pressure to either exaggerate or minimize the numbers, depending upon political agenda. The United States Department of Energy estimates that, at Hiroshima, the death toll from the immediate blast was roughly 70,000, with additional deaths occuring in the time soon after the explosion and in the decades that followed. The figures for Nagasaki are slightly less. [5] Other estimates vary widely, and are as low as 74,000 for Nagasaki. In both cities, the overwhelming majority of the deaths were civilians.

The role of the bombings in Japan's surrender, as well as the effects and justification of them, has been subject to much debate.

On August 15, 1945 Japan announced its surrender to the Allied Powers, signing the Instrument of Surrender on September 2 which officially ended World War II. Furthermore, the experience of bombing led post-war Japan to adopt Three Non-Nuclear Principles, which forbids Japan from nuclear armament.

IN TO THE HISTORY:

THE MANHATTEN PROJECT:

The United States, with assistance from the United Kingdom and Canada, designed and built the first atomic bombs under what was called the Manhattan Project. The project was initially started at the instigation of European refugee scientists (including Albert Einstein) and American scientists who feared that Nazi Germany would also be conducting a full-scale bomb development program (that program was later discovered to be much smaller and further behind). The project itself eventually employed over 130,000 people at its peak at over thirty institutions spread over the United States, and cost a total of nearly US$2 billion, making it one of the largest and most costly research and development programs of all time.

GENERAL GROVES&ROBERT OPPENHEIMER(PHYSICIST)

The first nuclear device, called "Gadget," was detonated during the "Trinity" test near Alamogordo, New Mexico on July 16, 1945. The Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs were the second and third to be detonated and as of 2007 the only ones ever detonated in a military action.

During World War II both the Allies and Axis powers had previously pursued policies of strategic bombing and the targeting of civilian infrastructure. In numerous cases these had caused huge numbers of civilian casualties and were (or came to be) controversial. In Germany, the Allied firebombing of Dresden resulted in roughly 30,000 deaths. The March 1945 firebombing of Tokyo killed 72,489 people, according to the Japan War History office. By August, about 60 Japanese cities had been destroyed through a massive aerial campaign, including massive firebombing raids on the cities of Tokyo and Kobe.

Over 3½ years of direct U.S. involvement in World War II, approximately 290,000 Americans had been killed in action and another 110,000 killed as a result of the war, 90,000 of them incurred in the war against Japan. In the months prior to the bombings, the Battle of Okinawa resulted in American casualties of 49,151. The Japanese deathtoll was given as 107,539 counted dead plus an estimated 23,764 in the closed caves or buried by the Japanese. Since the number was far above the estimated Japanese force on the island the army intelligence supposed that about 42,000 was civilians. A commonly provided justification for the bombings is that an invasion of the Japanese mainland was expected to result in casualties many times greater than in Okinawa.

THE DIRECTOR OF THE CRUEL DRAMA OF THE HISTORY(33rd president of america)
"HARRY TRUMAN"

U.S. President Harry S. Truman was unaware of the Manhattan Project until Franklin Roosevelt's death. Truman asked U.S. Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson to head a group of prominent citizens called the Interim Committee, which included three respected scientists and had been set up to advise the President on the military, political, and scientific questions raised by the possible use of the first atomic bomb. On May 31, Stimson put his conclusions to the committee and a four-man Scientific Panel. Stimson supported use of the bomb, stating "Our great task is to bring this war to a prompt and successful conclusion." But Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer, one of the Scientific Panel members, stated that a single atomic bomb would probably kill twenty thousand people, and the target should be a military one, not civilian. Another scientist, Dr. Arthur Holly Compton, suggested dropping the bomb on an isolated part of Japan to demonstrate its power while minimizing civilian deaths. But this was soon dismissed, since if Japan was to be notified in advance of an attack, the bomber might be shot down; alternately, the first bomb might fail to detonate.

In early July, on the way to Potsdam, Truman re-examined the decision to use the bomb. In the end, Truman made the decision to drop the atomic bombs on Japan. His stated intention in ordering the bombings was to bring about a quick resolution of the war by inflicting destruction, and instilling fear of further destruction, that was sufficient to cause Japan to surrender.

On July 26, Truman and other allied leaders issued The Potsdam Declaration outlining terms of surrender for Japan:
"...The might that now converges on Japan is immeasurably greater than that which, when applied to the resisting Nazis, necessarily laid waste to the lands, the industry and the method of life of the whole German people. The full application of our military power, backed by our resolve, will mean the inevitable and complete destruction of the Japanese armed forces and just as inevitably the utter devastation of the Japanese homeland..."
"...We call upon the government of Japan to proclaim now the unconditional surrender of all Japanese armed forces, and to provide proper and adequate assurances of their good faith in such action. The alternative for Japan is prompt and utter destruction."

The atomic bomb was still a highly guarded secret and was not mentioned in the declaration. On July 28, Japanese papers reported that the declaration had been rejected by the Japanese government. That afternoon, Prime Minister Kantaro Suzuki declared at a press conference that the Potsdam Declaration was no more than a rehash (yakinaoshi) of the Cairo Declaration and that the government intended to ignore it (mokusatsu). The statement was taken by both Japanese and foreign papers as a clear rejection of the declaration. Emperor Hirohito, who was waiting for a Soviet reply to noncommittal Japanese peace feelers, made no move to change the government position. On July 31, he made clear to Kido that the Imperial Regalia of Japan had to be defended at all costs.

Choice of targets:

Map showing the locations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan where the two atomic weapons were employed.

The Target Committee at Los Alamos on May 10–11, 1945, recommended Kyoto, Hiroshima, Yokohama, and the arsenal at Kokura as possible targets. The committee rejected the use of the weapon against a strictly military objective because of the chance of missing a small target not surrounded by a larger urban area. The psychological effects on Japan were of great importance to the committee members. They also agreed that the initial use of the weapon should be sufficiently spectacular for its importance to be internationally recognized. The committee felt Kyoto, as an intellectual center of Japan, had a population "better able to appreciate the significance of the weapon." Hiroshima was chosen because of its large size, its being "an important army depot" and the potential that the bomb would cause greater destruction because the city was surrounded by hills which would have a "focusing effect".

Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson struck Kyoto from the list because of its cultural significance, over the objections of General Leslie Groves, head of the Manhattan Project. According to Professor Edwin O. Reischauer, Stimson "had known and admired Kyoto ever since his honeymoon there several decades earlier." On July 25 General Carl Spaatz was ordered to bomb one of the targets: Hiroshima, Kokura, Niigata, or Nagasaki as soon after August 3 as weather permitted and the remaining cities as additional weapons became available.

THE FIRST TARGET-HIROSHIMA:

ENOLA GAY:

Hiroshima was the primary target of the first nuclear bombing mission on August 6, with Kokura and Nagasaki being alternative targets. August 6 was chosen because there had previously been cloud over the target. The B-29 Enola Gay, piloted and commanded by 509th Composite Group commander Colonel Paul Tibbets, was launched from North Field airbase on Tinian in the West Pacific, about six hours flight time from Japan. The Enola Gay (named after Colonel Tibbets' mother) was accompanied by two other B29s, The Great Artiste which carried instrumentation, commanded by Major Charles W. Sweeney, and a then-nameless aircraft later called Necessary Evil (the photography aircraft) commanded by Captain George Marquardt.

After leaving Tinian the aircraft made their way separately to Iwo Jima where they rendezvoused at 2440 m (8000 ft) and set course for Japan. The aircraft arrived over the target in clear visibility at 9855 m (32,000 ft). On the journey, Navy Captain William Parsons had armed the bomb, which had been left unarmed to minimize the risks during takeoff. His assistant, 2nd Lt. Morris Jeppson, removed the safety devices 30 minutes before reaching the target area.

THE MURDERERLITTLE BOY

THE MUSHROOM COULD

The release at 08:15 (Hiroshima time) was uneventful, and the gravity bomb known as "Little Boy", a gun-type fission weapon with 60 kg (130 pounds) of uranium-235, took 57 seconds to fall from the aircraft to the predetermined detonation height about 600 meters (2,000 ft) above the city. It created a blast equivalent to about 13 kilotons of TNT (the U-235 weapon was considered very inefficient, with only 1.38% of its material fissioning),The radius of total destruction was about 1.6 km (1 mile), with resulting fires across 11.4 km² (4.4 square miles). Infrastructure damage was estimated at 90 percent of Hiroshima's buildings being either damaged or completely destroyed.

About an hour before the bombing, Japanese early warning radar detected the approach of some American aircraft headed for the southern part of Japan. An alert was given and radio broadcasting stopped in many cities, among them Hiroshima. At nearly 08:00, the radar operator in Hiroshima determined that the number of planes coming in was very small—probably not more than three—and the air raid alert was lifted. To conserve fuel and aircraft, the Japanese had decided not to intercept small formations. The normal radio broadcast warning was given to the people that it might be advisable to go to air-raid shelters if B-29s were actually sighted, but no raid was expected beyond some sort of reconnaissance.

As a result of the blast an estimated minimum 90,000 people died within two months. Included in this number were about 2,000 Japanese Americans and another 800-1,000 who lived on as hibakusha, a Japanese term meaning, "explosion-affected people". As US citizens, many were attending school before the war and had been unable to leave Japan. It is likely that hundreds of Allied prisoners of war also died.

Hiroshima Was Burnt To Ashes

The building was the former Hiroshima Prefecture Industrial Promotion Hall, Where special products of Hiroshima were exhibited and various gatherings were held until the A-bomb was dropped. Since it was located just under thehypocenter, blast pressure was vertically exerted on the bulding and only the dome-shaped framework and part of the outer wall remained. It has come to be called "the A-bomb Dome", and it has come to symbolize to the people of the world "No More Hiroshimas". As years passed, however, the ruin has deteriorated further due to winds and rain. A civic movement was started calling for permanent preservation of the A-bomb Dome, and money was contributed from all over Japan, not to mention from Hiroshima. Within a year after the fund-raising campaign was started, the restoration funds had been collected. In August 1967, the reinforcing construction was completed. That is why the present A-bomb Dome gives a different impression from that in the photograph.

The bridge located to the south (the other side) of the Dome is Motoyasu Bridge, and the area to the west (right) of the bridge is the present Peace Park. The hill a little right from the center is Ninoshima (called small Mt.Fuji), which is about 9 kilometers from the spot where the photograph was taken.

300-Year-Old Camphor Tree Uprooted By The Blast

In the precincts of the Kokutaiji Temple, the big camphor tree, said to be over 300 years old was designated as a natural monument. Its branches and thick leaves provided a place of comfort for the passers-by during summertime. Its roots spread out in all directions for 300 meters, and the street car lines shown on the left in the photograph had to avoid the tree, which formed an archway over the sidewalk.

By a blast pressure of 19 tons per square meter, the tree was uprooted. Also, hundreds of tombstones were knocked in all directions by the complex flow of wind from the blast.

The white building seen on the extreme right is the Hiroshima branch of the Bank of Japan. Because it was built of strong ferro-concrete and stonework, the exterior remained uncollapsed but the interior burned.

This was a clock store located in Hiroshima's central business quarters called the 'Hondori', which is still a bustling street. The upper part was the clock tower which had been telling the time to passers-by, until the explosion.

The first floor shown in the photograph was the second floor. This two-storied building was of a strusture like a match box with no central pillar, so when it received the blast pressure from the side, the first floor was crushed and the building sank into itself. Hence, the second floor became the first floor, and the building leaned toward the side away from of the blast.

There were many buildings of ferro-concrete structure in Hiroshima, mostly in the vicinity of the hypocenter. According to a survey, these durable buildings were only destroyed if they were within 500 meters of the hypocenter. Buildings of earthquake-proof construction were damaged only on the inside. However, many buildings situated beyond 500 meters were essentially destroyed too, as in the case of this clock store situated farther than 500 meters.

EVENTS OF AUGUST 7-9TH:

After the Hiroshima bombing, President Truman announced, "If they do not now accept our terms, they may expect a rain of ruin from the air the likes of which has never been seen on this earth." On August 8, 1945, leaflets were dropped and warnings were given to Japan by Radio Saipan. (The area of Nagasaki did not receive warning leaflets until August 10, though the leaflet campaign covering the whole country was over a month into its operations.)

The Japanese government still did not react to the Potsdam Declaration. Emperor Hirohito, the government and the War council were considering four conditions for surrender : the preservation of the kokutai (Imperial institution and national polity), assumption by the Imperial Headquarters of responsibility for disarmament and demobilization, no occupation and delegation to the Japanese government of the punishment of war criminals.

The Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov informed Tokyo of the Soviet Union's unilateral abrogation of the Soviet-Japanese Neutrality Pact on April 5. At two minutes past midnight on August 9, Tokyo time, Soviet infantry, armor, and air forces launched an invasion of Manchuria. Four hours later, word reached Tokyo that the Soviet Union had declared war on Japan. The senior leadership of the Japanese Army began preparations to impose martial law on the nation, with the support of Minister of War Korechika Anami, in order to stop anyone attempting to make peace.

Responsibility for the timing of the second bombing was delegated to Colonel Tibbets as commander of the 509th Composite Group on Tinian. Scheduled for August 11 against Kokura, the raid was moved forward to avoid a five day period of bad weather forecast to begin on August 10. Three bomb pre-assemblies had been transported to Tinian, labeled F-31, F-32, and F-33 on their exteriors. On August 8 a dress rehearsal was conducted off Tinian by Maj. Charles Sweeney using Bockscar as the drop airplane. Assembly F-33 was expended testing the components and F-31 was designated for the mission August 9.

THE SECOND TARGET-NAGASAKI:

Charles W Sweeney-FATMAN DROPPED PILOT

On the morning of August 9, 1945, the U.S. B-29 Superfortress Bockscar, flown by the crew of 393rd Squadron commander Major Charles W. Sweeney, carried the nuclear bomb code-named "Fat Man", with Kokura as the primary target and Nagasaki the secondary target. The mission plan for the second attack was nearly identical to that of the Hiroshima mission, with two B-29's flying an hour ahead as weather scouts and two additional B-29's in Sweeney's flight for instrumentation and photographic support of the mission. Sweeney took off with his weapon already armed but with the electrical safety plugs still engaged.

Observers aboard the weather planes reported both targets clear. When Sweeney's aircraft arrived at the assembly point for his flight off the coast of Japan, the third plane (flown by the group's Operations Officer, Lt. Col. James I. Hopkins, Jr.) failed to make the rendezvous. Bockscar and the instrumentation plane circled for forty minutes without locating Hopkins. Already thirty minutes behind schedule, Sweeney decided to fly on without Hopkins.

By the time they reached Kokura a half hour later, a 7/10 cloud cover had obscured the city, prohibiting the visual attack required by orders. After three runs over the city, and with fuel running low because a transfer pump on a reserve tank had failed before take-off, they headed for their secondary target, Nagasaki. Fuel consumption calculations made en route indicated that Bockscar had insufficient fuel to reach Iwo Jima and they would be forced to divert to Okinawa. After initially deciding that if Nagasaki were obscured on their arrival they would carry the bomb to Okinawa and dispose of it in the ocean if necessary, the weaponeer Navy Commander Frederick Ashworth decided that a radar approach would be used if the target was obscured.

At about 07:50 Japanese time, an air raid alert was sounded in Nagasaki, but the "all clear" signal was given at 08:30. When only two B-29 Superfortresses were sighted at 10:53, the Japanese apparently assumed that the planes were only on reconnaissance and no further alarm was given.

A few minutes later, at 11:00, the support B-29 flown by Captain Frederick C. Bock dropped instruments attached to three parachutes. These instruments also contained an unsigned letter to Professor Ryokichi Sagane, a nuclear physicist at the University of Tokyo who studied with three of the scientists responsible for the atomic bomb at the University of California, Berkeley, urging him to tell the public about the danger involved with these weapons of mass destruction. The messages were found by military authorities but not turned over to Sagane until a month later. In 1949 one of the authors of the letter, Luis Alvarez, met with Sagane and signed the document.

THE FAT MAN(ANOTHER MURDERER)

At 11:01, a last minute break in the clouds over Nagasaki allowed Bockscar's bombardier, Captain Kermit Beahan, to visually sight the target as ordered. The "Fat Man" weapon, containing a core of ~6.4 kg (14.1 lb) of plutonium-239, was dropped over the city's industrial valley. 43 seconds later it exploded 469 meters (1,540 ft) above the ground exactly halfway between the Mitsubishi Steel and Arms Works in the south and the Mitsubishi-Urakami Ordnance Works (Torpedo Works) in the north. This was nearly 3 kilometers (2 mi) northwest of the planned hypocenter; the blast was confined to the Urakami Valley and a major portion of the city was protected by the intervening hills. The resulting explosion had a blast yield equivalent to 21 kilotons of TNT. The explosion generated heat estimated at 7000 degrees Fahrenheit and winds that were estimated at 624 mph.

BEFORE &AFTER BOMBING

According to some estimates, about 70,000 of Nagasaki's 240,000 residents were killed instantly, and up to 60,000 were injured. The radius of total destruction was about 1.6 km (1 mile), followed by fires across the northern portion of the city to 3.2 km (2 miles) south of the bomb. The total number of residents killed may have been as many as 80,000, including the few who died from radiation poisoning in the following months.

An unknown number of survivors from the Hiroshima bombing made their way to Nagasaki and were bombed again.

Around the Matsuyama-cho intersection which is close to the hypocenter, victimswere burned to death in their last gesture grasping at the air or trying to escape. Everything that burns was burnt. Roof tiles were crushed into small pieces and scattered all over, air-raid shelters and street cars were burned and ruined. All tell the miserable story without words.

In the Record of the Nagasaki A-bomb War Disaster, the situation in Matsuyama township is described as follows:

"A huge fireball formed in the sky. Directly beneath it is Matsuyama township. Together with the flash came the heat rays and blast, which instantly destroyed everything on earth, and those in the area fell unconscious and were crushed to death. Then they were blown up in the air and hurled back to the ground. The roaring flames burned those caught under the structures who were crying or groaning for help.

When the fire burnt itself out, there appeared a completely changed, vast, colorless world that made you think it was the end of life on earth. In a heap of ashes lay the debris of the disaster and charred trees, presenting a gruesome scene. The whole city became extinct. Citizens who were in Matsuyama township, the hypocenter, were all killed instantly, excepting a child who was in an air-raid shelter."

The cathedral collapsed at the burst of the A-bomb and scores cf believers died, sharing the same fate. Then, fire broke out. It is said that the remains of the cathedral continued to further collapse with eerie thuds even after dark. It is also said that there were 1,400 believers in Urakami at the time of the bombing, and 850 were killed by the A-bomb.

In the ruins of the cathedlal, there were many stone statues of the saints in the heaps of broken bricks and stones. The photograph shows part of the outer wall of the south entrance where the statues of the Holy Mother and Saint ,John lie chat, red by the heat rays. Also, the shadow in the lower left of the photograph shows that the largest twin tower in the Orient fully received the blast and was shifted 8 centimeters from the foundation stone.

The building. of this cathedral began in 1985 and it took 30 years to be completed in Urakami, a village then, where the believers have kept their faith since Christianity was introduced to Japan, and even through the years of the Edo period(1603-1867) when Christianity was prohibited. The building employed the Romanesque style, using stones and bricks. This cathedral had a floor space of 1,162 sq. meters and tower 26 meters high. The current LTr.akami Cathedral was built in 1959. Part of the destroyed cathedral is preserved at the hypocenter.

Shiroyalna Primary School is the primary school nearest to the hypocenter. Built on a hill surrounded by beautiful woods, this was the most modern ferro-concreate school building in Nagasaki. The Shiroyama township was a neathly-planned, quite residential district, but with one flash of the A-bomb, the school, homes and the woods were reduced to rubble.

According to the records of April 1945, this school had 32 classrooms, 1,500 pupils and 37 teachers and staffs. Since an air-raid alert was announced on that day, the pupils were s(nt home. Those who remained were 32 teachers (including a child of one of the teachers), 44 students of the Gakuto Hokokutai, and 75 workers from the Mitsubishi Heiki Seisakusho. A total of 151 persons.

Of the 151 persons, 52 were instantly killed by the heat rays and the enormous wind pressure, and 79 died later. A total of 131 victims accounts for a death rate of 87%. Of the 1,500 pupils who were at a home, it is estimated that about 1,400 were killed.

POST ATTACK CASUALITIES

This boy had thermal burns on more than one-third of his body, and his chest and the left side of his belly were seriously injured. He managed to leave the hospital after 3 years and 7 months. This person, who miraculously recovered, is now a father of two children, and recollects what happened then; "At that time I was riding a red bibycle on the streets of Sumiyoshi township (about 2 kilometers from the hypocenter). I was 16 years old, and it was my second year as a telegram messenger. The moment of face, I was blinded by the flash and thrown 3 meters away by the blast that came from my rear left, and my bicycle was twisted and bent. It was strange that I was not bleeding and did not feel any pain until I reached an underground shelter 300 meters away. The moment I reached the shelter, I felt severe pain in my back, which ran through my whole body. From then on, for three days and three nights, I kept on groaning in the shelter, and on the fourth day I was finally rescued and sent to a first-aid station."

"In the early stages, the only treatment I received for my burns was the application of a mixture of ash and oil as a substitute for medicine. I do not know how many times I yelled "kill me!" because of the severe pain and desperate feeling."

"Thereafter, as a result of the several operations I underwent, I escaped death and returned to work. Since I have once given up my life, I wish to dedicatemy new life to the struggle against atomic bombs."

He is continuing to devote his efforts to the prohibiton of atomic and hydrogen bombs.

The above photograph shows the stone steps of the main entrandce of Sumitomo Bank which is only 250 meters from the hypocenter. It is believed that a person sat down on the steps facing the direction of the hypocenter, possibly waiting for the bank to open. By a flash of the heat rays with temperatures well over a 1,000 degrees or possibly 2,000 degrees centigrade, that person was incineratied on the stone steps.

Up to about 10 years after the explosion, the shadow remained clearly on the stones, but exposure to rain and wind has been gradually blurring it. So, when the bank was newly built, the stone steps were removed and are now preserved at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

THE SURRENDER OF JAPAN

Up to August 9, the War council was still insisting on its four conditions for surrender. On that day Hirohito ordered Kido to "quickly control the situation" "because Soviet Union has declared war against us". He then held an Imperial conference during which he authorized minister Togo to notify the Allies that Japan would accept their terms on one condition, that the declaration "does not compromise any demand which prejudices the prerogatives of His Majesty as a Sovereign ruler".

HIS MAJESTY OF JAPA "HIROHITO"

On August 12, the Emperor informed the imperial family of his decision to surrender. One of his uncles, Prince Asaka, then asked whether the war would be continued if the kokutai could not be preserved. Hirohito simply replied "of course". As the Allied terms seemed to leave intact the principle of the preservation of the Throne, Hirohito recorded on August 14 his capitulation announcement which was broadcast to the Japanese nation the next day despite a short rebellion by fanatic militarists opposed to the surrender.

In his declaration, Hirohito referred to the atomic bombings :“ Moreover, the enemy has begun to employ a new and most cruel bomb, the power of which to do damage is, indeed, incalculable, taking the toll of many innocent lives. Should We continue to fight, not only would it result in an ultimate collapse and obliteration of the Japanese nation, but also it would lead to the total extinction of human civilization.

Such being the case, how are We to save the millions of Our subjects, or to atone Ourselves before the hallowed spirits of Our Imperial Ancestors? This is the reason why We have ordered the acceptance of the provisions of the Joint Declaration of the Powers. ”

However, in his "Rescript to the soldiers and sailors" delivered on 17 August, he stressed the impact of the Soviet invasion and his decision to surrender, omitting any mention of the bombs.

During the year after the bombing, approximately 40,000 U.S. occupation troops were in Hiroshima. Nagasaki was occupied by 27,000 troops. Upper limit dose estimates for those troops range from 0.19–0.3 mSv for Hiroshima and from 0.8–6.3 mSv for Nagasaki, depending on location.

On August 28, the occupation of Japan by Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers began.

On September 2, the Japanese government signed the Japanese Instrument of Surrender, which officially ended World War II.
